WNY PDMA President Stan Caplan welcomes attendees to the morning conference "Innovation Then and Now"
Dr. Stephen Hoover of Xerox, speaks on the company's turnaround and its focus on four principles that form the bedrock of Xerox's culture of innovation:

1. Intense customer focus
2. Create and leverage the world's best new technologies
3. Use a disciplined process
4. Embrace and manage risk
Horace Becker, Retired Vice President of Xerox, recounts the challenges of delivering innovative solutions for a revolutionary product called the 914 which led to the creation of the copier market.
Horace describes Chet Carlson's invention of Xerography and the conditions under which the first image was created. He then took us on a journey of how this invention was commercialized and the growth of Xerox.
Stan Caplan thanks Horace and the other guest speakers for a job well done.!
Jack Hipple, Principle of Innovation-TRIZ, helps takes the mystery out of Innovation by explaining how the theory prinicples of solving inventive problems (TRIZ) can be used to foster innovation and design better products.
